Holy Spirit Renewal Ministries (HSRM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, evangelical and biblically grounded Christian organization dedicated to empowering Christians and churches to change their worlds for Christ. Many of us are actively involved in American Baptist churches and wholeheartedly seek to bring renewal to that family of churches. Additionally,
in recent years our focus has enlarged, and we are now committed to fostering spiritual revitalization and empowerment not only in Baptist churches but also throughout the wider body of Christ. Indeed, our sphere of influence has greatly widened through our conferences and networking efforts to include thousands of people from many different Christian denominations and groups. Christ delights in the unity of His Body!
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8
Acts 1:8 is an important verse for us as we desire and seek the empowering work of the Holy Spirit for the whole body of Christ. We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is essential in every facet of Christian life and ministry. We are devoted to bringing Holy Spirit renewal in order that:
- Christians and churches will be empowered to expand Christ’s kingdom and change their worlds for Christ
- the Holy Spirit’s power, presence, and gifts will bring new life, restoration, and fruitfulness to Christians and churches that are burned out and sapped of spiritual strength and vitality
- through networking with like-minded believers, God’s kingdom will expand and His glory be displayed in all the earth
We seek to be an encouragement and support to denominational and trans-denominational leaders, pastors, and local church leaders as they endeavor to move their organizations and churches into a vibrant and fulfilling Spirit-empowered life and ministry. We also seek to bring spiritual refreshment and restoration to leaders and churches whose vitality and motivation have been depleted from the pressures and spiritual warfare inherent in serving Christ.
We believe that Christ's gift of the Holy Spirit to His church was meant to build up and unite the body of Christ, not to divide it. Therefore, in our teaching concerning the ministry of the Holy Spirit, our approach is to build bridges rather than barricades. Because God's intent is that His church be built up and united in the Holy Spirit, we believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit can be taught in a way that accomplishes that.
As a catalyst for both personal and church renewal, HSRM offers Days of Renewal for pastors and leaders; Weekends of Renewal for churches and Regions; conference, convention, and retreat speakers available to speak on a full range of subjects; teaching at all levels, from the local church to colleges and seminaries; counseling, and prayer ministry as modeled by Jesus, with His love and compassion and through the power of His Holy Spirit. We have a list of speakers who have expertise in a number of areas, and our desire is to be a blessing to the body of Christ.
